Attorney Supports McConnell
Dear Editor,
Throughout his campaign, Travis McConnell has promised transparency and a willingness to listen if he is elected county commissioner for the middle district. As a legal colleague, I can personally attest to McConnell’s inclination to listen and learn from those who have more experience.
After moving to Warsaw, McConnell realized that I could be a beneficial asset and colleague given my 17 years of experience as a lawyer here. McConnell often reaches out to ask questions about areas of the law with which I have more experience or to seek advice on how to navigate quirks of our local courts.
When I first met Travis he had only been a lawyer for five years. Now, I consider Travis a colleague. Often, young lawyers are ignorant of their own shortcomings, to put it politely. This shortsightedness can cause them to make rookie mistakes or endeavor to reinvent the wheel within their own legal practice. Travis has managed to avoid these pitfalls by recognizing when someone else is more knowledgeable on an issue. He is willing to ask for help and learn.
For this reason, I encourage others to vote for McConnell. His willingness to listen and learn from others can be an asset to our community. By amassing data from a wide range of persons and perspectives, Travis can offer more than his own mere opinion when making decisions to help Kosciusko.
