Runners Put In Miles To Help Snuff Hunger

MILFORD – Runners took to the streets of Milford Saturday morning in an effort to help raise money for the Milford Food Bank.
In conjunction with a silent auction and pancake breakfast, the Milford Miles For Hunger road race took place, which was run in three different formats – half-mile, one-mile and two-mile distances.
Winning the half-mile races were Aubrey LeCount (3:39) and Cooper Beer (3:54), with Quincy Schwartz (4:04) and Tucker Beer (4:02) as runner-ups.
The one-mile leaders were Ty Alles (5:29) and Daniel Trinklin (8:21) on the male side, and Madison Doege (8:10) and Audrey Lawrence (10:01) in the female standings.
The two-mile race had Elias Rojas (10:21) and Brian Shepherd (12:12) lead the way for the men, while Kirstin Alles (12:17) and Staci Weisser (13:40) pacing the females.
Shepherd, who served as race supervisor, offered thanks to the event sponsors: Mr. Rooter, Jasper Plastics, Cetera Investments, Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance and Warsaw Buick.
