InkFreeNews Participating In ‘Trick Or Trash’
Press Release
WARSAW — Don’t trash those trick-or-treat candy wrappers.
The Papers Inc. will have official Trick or Trash recycling boxes at all five of its offices in Goshen, Milford, Rochester, Syracuse and Warsaw. Now is your chance to help reduce the waste that accumulates every year around Halloween by dropping wrappers off through Nov. 23 or until the boxes are full.
Rubicon, a software company that provides smart waste and recycling solutions to businesses and governments worldwide, launched Trick or Trash in 2019, with more than 470 schools in 49 states participating in the program. In 2019, it diverted an estimated 4,000 pounds of wrappers and packaging from landfills and oceans. For 2020, it opened the program to include small businesses in addition to schools.
“Last year’s campaign was a huge success and we are looking to expand its reach and impact in 2020,” said Nate Morris, founder and CEO of Rubicon. “Helping the next generation understand the challenges associated with waste reduction and recycling is a priority for us, and for our partners. Trick or Trash is our way of teaching younger people about the critical importance of recycling to the future of our planet, and we have a lot of fun while doing so.”
In 2020 Rubicon will be assisted in raising the awareness and educational scope of Trick or Trash by a new program partner, the National Wildlife Federation.
Parents and teachers alike can explore the educational components that are customized for different age groups on Trick or Trash’s official website, www.trickortrash.com. These materials were designed for both in-person and distance learning. There is also a business fact sheet available for small business participants to share with their employees.
The Trick or Trash boxes will be available during The Papers’ regular weekday office hours: Goshen, 134 S. Main St., 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Milford, 206 S. Main St., 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Rochester, 617 Main St., 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday; Syracuse, 102 E. Main St., 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and Warsaw, 114 W.
