Bids Submitted For Public Safety Communications Project

WARSAW — Bids for the public safety communications project were opened at the Kosciusko County Commissioners meeting Tuesday, Oct. 27, by Terry Burnworth, owner of Pyramid Consulting in Indianapolis, and County Attorney Chad Miner.
Bidders included:
- R. Yoder Construction, Nappanee, with the following bids: $185,500 for concrete work; $157,300 for precast shelters; $112,800 for civil work at the sites; and $42,000 for fencing at the sites.
- Rex Collins Electric Inc., Marion, with a bid of $256,922 for electric work.
- Martell Electric, South Bend, bid $298,730.65 for electric work.
- Cobalt Civil, LLC, Winchester, bid $85,866 for civil work and $49,257 for fencing.
- MPX Solutions, Anderson, submitted the following bids: $158,696.68 for concrete; $128,208 for shelters; $221,287.50 for 35 TL, which is the labor to stack the tower; and $328,629.03 for 35TM, the tower steel.
- Infra Critical Facilities Engineering & Consulting LLC, Carmel, bid $318,700 for electric.
- Sabre Industries, Sioux City, Iowa, bid $378,958 for tower materials.
The project involves the addition of three towers to upgrade the public safety radio communication system and broadband internet across the county.
Burnworth was given approval to take the bids under advisement and return with recommendations at the next commissioners meeting, Nov. 10.
