UPDATE: One Injured In Van-Bus Collision

SYRACUSE — Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office has officially reported that one child, age 9, was injured in the accident at US 6 and CR 133. However, the extent of her injuries were not listed. The accident occurred at 3:07 p.m. today, Monday, Oct. 26.
Officers report Altha Miller, 72, Syracuse, was southbound on CR 133, in a 2005 Pontiac Montana and failed to yield at the intersection. Miller entered the intersection in front of the 2012 Freightliner Bus, driven by Mark Stout, 56, Ligonier. Neither driver was able to avoid the impact. Miller was cited for failure to yield.
According to the news release, Rosa Swartz, 9, Ligonier, a passenger in Miller’s vehicle was injured. The extent of her injuries was not listed.
Additionally, officers report Miller had five passengers in her vehicle and the school bus had 20 passengers.
