Police Investigate Stabbing At Syracuse Dollar General

SYRACUSE — On Oct. 21, at approximately 7:22 p.m., officers with the Syracuse Police Department were dispatched to the Dollar General store, located at 730 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, in reference to a stabbing.
The investigation found the stabbing was the result of a verbal dispute in the parking lot. The verbal dispute escalated into a physical confrontation with the victim, Jason D. Weisser, 38, Syracuse, being stabbed in the thigh by the unidentified suspect.
The suspect then fled in a vehicle driven by a second suspect, Joshua L. Miller, 32, Syracuse.
Miller was arrested as an accomplice to battery with a deadly weapon resulting in bodily injury and transported to the Kosciusko County Jail.
The victim was transported by private vehicle to Goshen General Hospital for treatment.
The investigation is ongoing at this time. Kosciusko County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office advises the defendant’s charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Syracuse Police Department was assisted by the Kosciusko County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, Indiana State Police, Milford and North Webster police departments, along with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office.
