Three Counties Report New COVID-19 Deaths; Kosciusko County Sees 62 New Cases

WARSAW — Between noon Thursday, Oct. 1, and noon Tuesday, Oct. 6, the Kosciusko County Health Department reported a total of 62 new molecular and antigen COVID-19 cases.
This brings the county’s total number to 1,376, with 17 deaths.
Currently, 1,151 Kosciusko County residents have recovered from COVID-19. Eight cases are hospitalized active cases, with 200 classified as active. A “hospitalized active case” consists of any active cases that are currently or have been hospitalized at all during their illness. However, consistent with non-hospitalized cases, once their 21-day active period is completed, they are considered recovered.
The Wabash County Health Department recently reported an additional COVID-19 death. The death occurred on Sunday, Oct. 4, bringing the county’s total to nine. Wabash County has 290 positive cases and has administered 5,177 tests.
The Whitley County Health Department also recently reported an additional COVID-19 death. The death occurred on Friday, Oct. 2, bringing the county’s total to seven. Whitley County has 322 positive cases, which is up from 295 reported on Thursday, Oct. 1.

Marshall County Health Department also recently reported an additional COVID-19 death. The death occurred on Friday, Oct. 2, bringing the county’s total to 25. Marshall County has 1,077 positive cases, which is up from 1,030 reported on Thursday.
Statewide, the latest posting on the Indiana State Department of Health website shows the number of COVID-19 deaths in Indiana rose to 3,484.
The total positive number of COVID-19 cases in Indiana is now at 126,946. More than 2,198,000 COVID-19 tests have been administered to Hoosiers.
Locally, Fulton County has 264 positive cases, Noble County has 957 positive cases and Elkhart County has 7,090, which is up from 6,800 reported on Thursday.
In other northern Indiana counties, Lake County has 11,283 positive cases, which is up from 10,869 reported on Thursday; St. Joseph County has 7,318 positive cases, which is up from 6,857 reported on Thursday; and Allen County has 6,701 positive cases.
According to the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center, more than 2,935,000 people in the United States have recovered from COVID-19.
