Special Olympics Kosciusko County Lands Award Nominees

WARSAW – Three local volunteers from Special Olympics Kosciusko County have won nomination from Area 5 for the Spirit of Special Olympics. These individuals have exemplified the Special Olympics spirit of skill, courage, sharing and joy, and demonstrated an overall commitment to the Special Olympics program in Indiana.
There are nominees from all 10 areas of Special Olympics Indiana for the categories of Athlete, Coach, Family, Volunteer and Law Enforcement Torch Run Officer.
Special Olympics Indiana will announce the winners on October 24th via a Zoom meeting.
Local nominees include the following:
Coach: Caleb Hipskind, coached basketball.
Volunteer: Don Conley volunteered with skills basketball, bocce and corn toss.
Family: Steve DeGaetano and family (Hanna, Anthony and Kim) involved with Special Olympics since 2010.
Becky Walls, Special Olympics Kosciusko County coordinator, expressed her gratitude for the dedication of the three nominees and presented a plaque and yard sign in recognition of their achievement.
