Northridge 7, NorthWood 0
In a battle of Northern Lakes Conference contenders, the first to score truly came out the victor.
A 10-yard touchdown pass from Logan Hooley to Breckin Judd was all the scoring the game would see. The third quarter toss would up moving the Raiders to 3-1 in the NLC, and knocking the host Panthers down to 2-1 in the standings.
The two teams, which have given up a total of 55 points between the two of them all season, did account for 548 yards of total offense and 21 first downs. NorthWood, though, only had seven of those chain movers in the largely stalemated contest.
Nate Newcomer had 196 yards of total offense to lead the Panthers (2-2), 69 of those on the ground. Hooley had 180 yards of total offense, 112 of those on the ground. Dom Crowder added 13 carries for 70 yards for the Raiders (4-1).
Plymouth 37, Wawasee 12
On the other side of the NLC table, both Wawasee and host Plymouth came into Friday night without a win in the conference.
Plymouth (1-5, 1-3 NLC) jumped out to a 22-0 lead in the first half and never looked back. Plymouth’s Jake Reichard rushed for all three of its first quarter scores, and he added a pair of two-point conversions. Reichard opened the scoring in the second half with a 77-yard score and then made the score 37-0 after hitting Devante Garcia for a 31-yard touchdown pass.
Reichard had 232 yards on the ground and added another 44 through the air in the stunning performance for the Rockies.
Wawasee got a pair of late touchdowns from Dominic Blair on a four-yard run and one in the final seconds from Cam Zimmerman from 12 yards out. Parker Young threw for 198 yards on 17-27 attempts in the losing effort.
Wawasee falls to 2-4 overall and 0-4 in the NLC.
Pioneer 48, Triton 6
The Class 2-A No. 4 Panthers had no trouble earning another Hoosier North Athletic Conference win in Bourbon.
Cayden Hill, Addai Lewellen, Ezra Lewellen and Tyler Zellers all had touchdown rushes for Pioneer, and Hill added an 84-yard touchdown pass to Logan Smith in the barrage. Pioneer also scored a touchdown on a fumble recovery.
Pioneer outgained Triton 369-109 despite both teams running exactly 38 plays apiece. Hill would lead Pioneer (5-1, 2-0 HNAC) with 160 yards on the ground.
Cole Shively had five carries for 26 yards for the Trojans (3-2, 2-1 HNAC) and 32 more through the air on 3-8 attempts. Lucas Cabrera had a 23-yard reception. Hunter McIntyre got Triton’s lone touchdown in the third quarter on a two-yard rushing play.
