SILVER LAKE — Multiple departments responded to a two-vehicle accident on SR 15 in which two people died.

At approximately 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, Silver Lake Fire Department responded to a report of a vehicle accident involving a semi and car in front of Splendor Boats, 9526 S. SR 15, Silver Lake.

Two people in the car were pronounced dead at the scene. A third person involved in the accident was taken to a local hospital by helicopter.

Also assisting at the scene were the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office, Claypool Police Department, Silver Lake Police Department, Claypool Fire Department, Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory, Sidney-Jackson Township Fire Department, Indiana State Police, Lutheran EMS, Parkview EMS, Crouse Body Shop, NIPSCO and the Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office.

Winona Lake and Pierceton Fire Departments were both placed on standby due to the accident.
