Class-A-Thon Event To Raise Funds For Destiny Rescue

WARSAW — Juko-Ryu Toide & Martial Arts Center, located at 704 S. Buffalo St., Warsaw, is hosting an all-day event Sunday, Sept. 20, to raise money to save children from human trafficking.
The martial arts center is accepting donations from now through the day of event, with the goal of reaching $15,000, which is the estimated cost required to rescue ten children.
According to information posted by Matt Smith, headmaster of Juko-Ryu Toide, funds raised will be donated to Destiny Rescue.
Human trafficking is the fastest-growing and second-largest criminal industry in the world.
Information posted regarding the event states that, according to the Trafficking in Persons Report produced by the State Department, approximately 27 million men, women and children are victims of some form of human trafficking.
This event involves a full day of different classes being offered from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. with a minimum fee of $25 per class. It costs $1,500 to rescue one child and place them in a good home. Anyone who donates $1,500 will be given a month of free classes at Juko-Ryu.
