Man Arrested After Allegedly Sharing Nude Images Of Woman

WARSAW — A man was recently arrested after a woman reported that he had repeatedly shared nude images of herself to social media without her permission.
Jody Lynn Gilbert, 49, with addresses of 5584 E. CR 500N, Churubusco and 606 E. Sycamore St., Silver Lake, is being charged with stalking, a level 6 felony and five counts of distribution of an intimate image, class A misdemeanors.
On Feb. 14, a female went to the Warsaw Police Department to report that Gilbert had been posting nude photos of her online without her consent since 2019.
The victim said that the first time she was aware of Gilbert posting an inappropriate image of her was in September 2019. The female cut off contact with Gilbert at that point, but he continued to request nude photos, which she declined. Gilbert would send the female unsolicited nude images of himself. The female said that this became so harassing that she blocked him from everything she could think of. Gilbert would create new social media accounts in an attempt to contact the female, at one point even contacting her through Venmo.
According to the affidavit or probable cause, the more images Gilbert posted of the female, the more terrorized she felt.
During the investigation, officers were able to confirm that Gilbert’s phone number was used to create an Instagram account of Jan. 28 and posted an inappropriate image of the female victim on Jan. 28 and Feb. 1. This account was disabled on Feb. 4.
On Feb. 4, another Instagram account was created by Gilbert with an inappropriate image of the female victim posted on Feb. 6. This account was disabled on Feb. 7.
On Feb. 12. another Instagram account was created by Gilbert with three inappropriate images of the female victim posted on Feb. 13.
On March 13, another Instagram account was created by Gilbert with an inappropriate image of the female victim posted on March 13. This account was disabled on March 13.
On March 13, another Instagram account was created by Gilbert with an inappropriate image of the female victim posted on March 13. This account was disabled on March 14.
Instagram also provided the IP address used to upload the inappropriate images and a search warrant was obtained. The IP address was traced to a residence in which Gilbert had been living.
Gilbert was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on Sept. 6, with a $5,250 surety and cash bond.
