WINONA LAKE — Hundreds lined the canal at Winona Lake to watch the fourth annual Cardboard Boat Regatta.
The race was part of The Village at Winona’s Canal Days event held Saturday, Aug. 29. Aside from the race, festivities also included craft and art booths, food vendors and kids’ activities.
Compared to last year’s event, there were almost double the number of contestants in the boat race, with fifteen boats taking to the canal. Twelve boats completed the race in full, with three boats sinking. The cardboard boat regatta raised funds for Fellowship Missions of Warsaw.
