Press Release
WARSAW — Clearwater Car Wash presented a $10,000 check to Boomerang Backpacks during a presentation on Friday, Aug. 28.
The Warsaw-based car wash company decided to give back to five local organizations in April by donating all of the business’s April’s profits at the beginning of business closures related to COVID-19. Approximately $38,000 was raised during April.
Clearwater also donated funds to World Compassion Network, Water For Good, Combined Community Services and Warsaw Community Schools.
Boomerang Backpacks is a local nonprofit organization that feeds hungry children on the weekends by distributing backpacks full of healthy goodies at the ends of each week during the school year. Students who receive these free backpacks are elementary students typically enrolled in the free or reduced lunch program. Additionally, the Boomerang Backpacks program also inspires high school students to participate in community service and experience work-based learning experiences by volunteering to fill the backpacks.
The Boomerang Backpack program is volunteer-driven and relies on donations to purchase the food. Community support is critical to the operations of the Boomerang Backpack program and ensuring school children have access to proper nutrition.
