LIGONIER — The Lady Warriors soccer team fell just short in their match with West Noble on Wednesday night, falling 4-3 to a potential sectional opponent.
Nadia Whalen tickled the twine twice for Wawasee with Nondus Brown tallying the third.
“The girls played an excellent game and we deserved to win,” said Wawasee head coach Luis Camargo. “The last 10 minutes we let our guard down and West Noble managed to get three goals. This will be a good learning experience for the girls.
The loss moves Wawasee’s record to 0-1-1 on the young season. The ladies will take to their home pitch on Saturday with Westview providing the opposition.
In this evening’s junior varsity contest, Wawasee defeated the Chargers 2-0. Brown and Mikilah Wiggs scored the Warrior goals in the B-team’s first match of the year.
