Soul Taker’s Acres Haunted House Cancelled
Staff Report
WARSAW — According to a post on the Kosciusko County Community Fair’s Facebook page, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Soul Takers Acres Haunted House will be suspending operation until the 2021 season, out of an abundance of caution.
“This is not a decision we take lightly, but after careful consideration, the possible risks far outweigh the reward,” the post reads.
With the safety of the cast, crew and guests a primary concern, the possibility of a resurgence of COVID-19 cases and the strict social distancing restrictions in place, representatives of the Kosciusko County Community Fair Inc. do not believe it would be possible to successfully and responsibly operate a haunted attraction this fall.
“The quality of our show would suffer greatly, and we would take the risk exposing our cast and guests,” the Facebook post reads. “With such an unknown future landscape, the time and effort needed to plan and operate our attraction and our ultimate concern of guest and crew safety, the decision eventually became clear. We will miss entertaining our fans and guests this Halloween season but believe this is the right decision. We fully intend to open our doors in 2021 and hope that people respect our decision and how we came to this conclusion.”
