ATWOOD – While a van and semi-truck sustained heavy damage, the two drivers walked away without any significant injuries in an accident along US 30 and CR 800W Tuesday morning, Aug. 18.
The accident happened shortly after 10 a.m. and slowed eastbound traffic along the highway, which was diverted to Old Road 30.
According to the driver of the van, Parker Conely, of Granger, he was traveling south on CR 800W and was proceeding across the eastbound lanes when he did not see the eastbound truck, which ended up on its side in the median after the collision.
Conely said he was hauling plastic and his view was obstructed.
The van sustained heavy damage to the back and front.
Both drivers were seen sitting together afterward in the median and emergency crews investigated and worked to clean up the wreckage.
