Virtual Learning Update From Boys & Girls Clubs Of Elkhart County
News Release
GOSHEN — Boy & Girls Clubs Elkhart County and KidsCare are here to support kids, parents, and working families in the community. Both Boys & Girls Club of Elkhart County and KidsCare are monitoring news from schools and the Elkhart County Health Department to respond as efficiently as possible to our community’s changing needs.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Elkhart County and KidsCare have a two-part plan to support families in the case of a full-time virtual start or a partial start. The current plans are as follows:
If schools begin virtual in a format:
- Boys & Girls Clubs & Kids Care will offer BGC Academy (an academics-focused program including e-learning support) from 5:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. beginning Aug. 17.
- Online instruction, staffing, COVID safety-protocols and coordination of food plans are in process.
- Registration information is coming soon. Watch social media (facebook.com/bgcelkhartcounty) and the clubs website (greatfutures.club) for updates
If schools return to in-person instruction:
- Boys & Girls Clubs & Kids Care will return to ‘Back2School’ plans as previously advertised. Links to detailed schedules and registration forms are provided at GreatFutures.club/back2school.
- Boys & Girls Clubs and KidsCare are in partnership with area schools who have the toughest job, which is to figure out how to educate our kids in unfamiliar times.
