WARSAW — The 2021 budget was reviewed and approved at the Oakwood Cemetery Board of Regents meeting Thursday, Aug. 6.
The budget for 2021 is down $876 from 2020. The total budget estimate for 2020 was $762,861. The total budget estimate for 2021 is $761,985.
Oakwood Sexton Hal Heagy said the budget decrease is partly due to shifting from 27 pay periods this year to 26 in 2021 – a hiccup of sorts that happens every few years.
Heagy said they did not budget enough this year for fleet insurance so that was bumped up for next year, with a 24 percent increase.
“Basically a lot of it stayed the same,” Heagy said.
There was no change in the budget amount for supplies, services & charges, utility services, repairs & maintenance, rentals or capital outlays.
Board member Chris Plack questioned the drop in life insurance under the “Employee Benefits” category, from $2,576 to $900, to which Heagy replied he would look into the breakdown and make sure it was calculated correctly.
