SYRACUSE — Last Friday, July 31, will be all about “Back to School,” and everyone is invited to attend the bash, shopping and walking the block in uptown Syracuse from 5-7:30 p.m.
There will be plenty of activities to entertain during the event. Sawyer’s Country Edge will be hosting a frog jumping contest, with sign up beginning at 5 p.m. and the contest following at 5:30 p.m. Frogs will be provided or would-be participants can bring their own.
Bowen Center will have a radio control car. Free popcorn and a free kids T-shirt will be given out by REMAX Partners.
Syracuse Public Library will be joining the fun with games and light snacks while the Syracuse-Wawasee Chamber of Commerce will hold a hopscotch contest and the Syracuse-Wawasee Trails will hand out bike safety information.
Uptown businesses are getting in on the action, too. A Touch of Beauty will be doing free barber cuts and free basic brow and face cleanups; Revolving Closet and the Revolving Closet Continued will have extended hours; CedarStone Children’s Bookstore will have book sales; Babes & Combs will be doing haircuts; Bass Audiology will be serving strawberry shortcake and bottled water; and Health Elite will be selling smoothie popsicles.
Other activities can be expected at the event as well.
Attendees are asked to practice social distancing during Last Friday. Do not attend if running a fever, experiencing other COVID-19 symptoms or if anyone in the household has shown symptoms. Attend at your own risk.
