NORTH WEBSTER — Tippecanoe Township Advisory Board met with Fire Chief Jeremy Likens and Township Trustee Chris Francis at its regular monthly meeting Wednesday, July 15, in the Tippecanoe Township Building, North Webster.
Most of the time was spent in the first budget workshop for 2021.
A preliminary budget hearing will be held in August according to Francis. He is checking on final figures for insurance for the budget. He said the operating expenses are running below the levy.
The board approved a total of $250,000 to be spent on extraction equipment and ambulance cots for the fire and emergency medical services.
Also passed was a motion to move $3,811 from the COVID-19 fund to the payroll fund.
Likens noted 71 EMS runs and 22 fire runs were made in June. The department is doing well with PPE and the new handbook is coming along.
All equipment approved at the June meeting has been ordered but none has arrived.
In attendance were Likens, Francis, President Jim Rhodes, Secretary Ed Clayton, and Township Clerk Jen Ducey. Board member Jim Smith was absent.
The next meeting will be 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, in the township building, 102 S. Morton St., North Webster.
