5-Year-Old Pulled From Pike Lake Near Pier

WARSAW – The body of a 5-year-old child was recovered Tuesday night, July 14, after going missing while swimming.
At about 7:14 p.m., emergency personnel responded to Pike Lake Beach in Warsaw after a child was reported missing in the water at the swim area.
Witnesses reported the boy was swimming in the public swim area near shore when he could not be found. The boy was later found unresponsive by a family member near the public swimming pier in approximately five feet of water.
Emergency personnel from multiple departments responded to the area and provided CPR and lifesaving aid.
The boy was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital by paramedics and later flown by Lutheran Air to Fort Wayne, where he is currently undergoing treatment.
The incident is still under investigation by Indiana Conservation Officers.
Other responding agencies include Warsaw Police Department, Warsaw-Wayne Fire Department and Lutheran Hospital paramedics.
