Press Release
WINONA LAKE — The decision reached in March by Lakeland Christian Academy and Warsaw Christian to merge into one school became official on June 30, when both schools signed the official agreement.
The document specified that the schools will form one preschool through 12th-grade school under the Lakeland Christian Academy name, effective immediately.
The preschool through 6th-grade classes will still be held at Grace Community Brethren Church’s facility, while grades 7 through 12 will continue to operate at LCA’s current location in Winona Lake. However, there are plans to be on one campus in the future.
There has been a great sense of unity as this process has taken place, and both LCA and WCS are excited to be moving forward as one school. By bringing these schools together, there will be a stronger academic and spiritual culture. This merger creates continuity for parents by offering a higher level of academic excellence, competitive athletics and community engagement, all being accomplished through a biblical worldview.
“This is an exciting time for LCA and our community,” said LCA Superintendent Joe Elrod. “God has chosen this time to allow these two schools to come together in order to offer a stronger Christian school to serve our community and enrich the lives of our students. This is a wonderful opportunity for families to have their child taught a consistent, cohesive biblical worldview from preschool to graduation.”
LCA is currently enrolling preschool through 12th-grade students for the 2020-2021 school year. Visit www.lcacougars.com or e-mail [email protected] for more information.
