Update: One Killed In Motorhome Crash On US 6
ELKHART – A driver was killed after being hit from behind by a recreational vehicle on US 6 Friday afternoon in Elkhart County.
Police said the 2017 Thor Miramar was traveling too fast on US 6 when it slammed into the back of an unidentified vehicle, according to a report issued by Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.
The accident happened at about 2:45 p.m.
The motorhome was traveling west and approaching CR 37 when it attempted to swerve to miss a vehicle that had stopped at the intersection.
The driver, who has not yet been identified, died at the scene.
The driver of the motorhome, James Murdock, 54, of Fort Wayne, was taken to Goshen Hospital for a blood draw to determine if he was intoxicated.
Murdock was cited for traveling to close, the report said.
