ICGSA Honors Track, Tennis Academic All-Staters

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association (ICGSA) announced its choices for the 2020 Academic All-State honorees for girls track and girls tennis.
The girls sports association notated 124 total choices for track, both in All-State (48) and Honorable Mention (76) lists. In tennis, 47 were chosen All-State and 61 more as Honorable Mention. The ICGSA requires seniors to carry a 3.5 GPA (or equivalent) and score at least a 1110 SAT or 24 ACT. The player must also have been projected to be a varsity player with at least 50 percent opportunity to play in their respective games.
For girls track, area selections for Academic All-State included Bethany Christian’s Clara Lind and Eva Sargent, Northridge’s Alison Bache, Rachael Kelly and Jenna Nethercutt, St. Joe’s Carmen Nunez, Wabash’s Maya Benysh and Westview’s Aleka Ernsberger.
Honorable Mentions for track included Bethany’s Luisa Dutchersmith, Columbia City’s Allyson Wilson and Felicity Clawson, Elkhart Memorial’s Laila Nagy, Mya Reeves and Adrianna Shepard, Goshen’s Hannah LaFary, Megan Chupp and Alissa Lay, LaVille’s Elena Lindke, Northridge’s Betsy Wertman, Shelby Heerschop, Hope Stacker and Julia Stuckey, Plymouth’s Sydney Morrow and St. Joe’s Anne Goralczyk.
For girls tennis, area selections for Academic All-State included NorthWood’s Lauren Mikel and Jessica Kamp, and the team also had Alex Jesse and Caroline Mullet name Honorable Mention Academic All-State.
Joining the Lady Panthers on the list included Academic All-State selections for Goshen’s Sophia Kirkton, John Glenn’s Abby Machnic, Northfield’s Allysa Haupert, Plymouth’s Alexa Orozco, Fernanda Cortes, Alaina Clady, Erin Renneker and Olive Stanton, Wabash’s Camille Kugler and West Noble’s Kristina Teel.
Honorable Mentions for tennis included Elkhart Memorial’s Elizabeth Weimer and Megan Huys, Marian’s Bridget Meyers, Anne Henry and Elizabeth Voor, Plymouth’s Jocelyn Draper and Wabash’s Bella Carrillo and Evelynn Gray.
