Warsaw Man Arrested After Making Threats, Damaging Apartment
Staff Report
WARSAW — A Warsaw man was recently arrested after allegedly making verbal threats and damaging an apartment.
Nathaniel Jon Reedy, 30, 1404 Tippecanoe Drive No. D2, Warsaw, is charged with intimidation, a level 6 felony; and public intoxication, a class B misdemeanor.
On April 16, a Warsaw Police officer responded to a report of a landlord-tenant dispute at an undisclosed location. Upon arrival at the scene, the officer saw Reedy standing by a vehicle. The officer asked Reedy his name and he replied that he didn’t have one.
According to court documents, the officer spoke with a man and asked him about the events at the apartment. The man said Reedy had been drinking all day and knocked some holes in the walls.
The landlord said she called law enforcement after receiving information that a tenant was destroying an apartment. She told officers that Reedy had broken a window and was threatening other tenants. Reedy then continually asked who called the police and allegedly accused his neighbor’s dog of killing his cat.
The officer then spoke with Reedy’s neighbor, who said he has had several run-ins with Reedy, and that each time, Reedy had been drunk, cursing and making accusations. The neighbor said Reedy asked him if he wanted to die today; the man was able to get back into his apartment, but Reedy remained just outside his door, saying, “I’m gonna murder some people today.”
The man was then asked about an incident involving his dog attacking Reedy’s cat. He said Reedy had accused his dog of attacking his Chihuahua, but that he wasn’t even sure if Reedy had any pets.
Reedy was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on May 29, with a $5,250 surety and cash bond.
