SYRACUSE — Syracuse-Wawasee Chamber of Commerce is launching Last Friday digitally in light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. To join in the fun, visit the chamber’s Facebook page or Instagram or stop by the Syracuse Strong (Indiana) public Facebook group.
May’s Last Friday theme will be “Arts and Garden Fair.” Throughout the afternoon starting at 4 p.m., special videos will be posted on all three pages. These videos will have a garden or arts theme.
Planned videos will feature Ace Hardware, Cedarstone Children’s Bookstore and Lilly Center for Lakes & Streams, with more being in the works.
“There will be a little video of myself sharing information about what Last Fridays will be like when we can finally meet,” chamber Executive Director Renea Salyer said. “A taste of what is to come.
“We want people to watch and be inspired and be excited for things to come, for the community.”
When Last Fridays is able to be held in-person — June is looking like a possibility — vendors will start setting up on the east side of Main Street at 4:30 p.m. Booth space will be available $25 for businesses and $15 for nonprofits.
“There will be a chamber information booth at the corner of Main Street and sign up for the next one,” Salyer added.
Future themes include “Family Night Out,” June 26; “Back to School Jubilee,” July 31; “Hot Summer Nights — Bands,” Aug. 28; and “Taco Wars,” Sept. 25.
Stay tuned for information on future Last Friday events and whether or not June’s will be in-person or digital.
