NORTH WEBSTER — North Webster-Tippecanoe Township Chamber of Commerce board of directors met via Zoom Monday, May 11. The meeting covered an event set tentatively for Saturday, Aug. 22, to bring people to town to shop, distribution of the newly released North Webster Community Guides, and beginning the search for two new board members.
A quorum was present so business was able to be conducted. President Mindy Scaggs, RE/MAX Lakes, conducted the meeting. A committee was formed for the Aug. 22 event and will meet soon to plan ever mindful that due to the novel coronavirus it may have to be rescheduled.
A spread sheet has been placed at the chamber office in the Tippecanoe Township building to note how many and where the North Webster Community Guides need to go. Delivery to some locations such as North Webster NewMarket, North Webster Ace Hardware and Bourbon Street Pizza has begun. An email will be sent to the membership about a pick up time and date.
Resignations have been received from board members Kara Dobbins, formerly of the North Webster Community Center. She now has a new job in Fort Wayne. Amanda Meerzo, Mohawk Pier & Lift, has also resigned as they have purchased an additional business, The River Coffeehouse, and she is unable to attend meetings.
Suggestions for new board members were given. Scaggs will follow up for board members to fill those terms and bring candidates back for the board to elect from. Member of the month choices were chosen by the board through August.
Member centric focus ideas were presented to the board by Scaggs. Topics included recovery ideas, new member orientations, and existing member visits.
