Rochester Man Dies In Argos Crash
ARGOS — Fritz H. Risner, 54, Rochester, died as a result of a two-vehicle crash at SR 10 and US 31 in Argos Friday, May 1. The crash was at 6:53 p.m.
Tracy K. Risner, 48, Rochester, a passenger in the vehicle, was airlifted to an area hospital with multiple injuries. The Risners were trapped in the vehicle and extricated by emergency personnel.
Marshall County Sheriff’s Office reports a juvenile from Bourbon was westbound in a 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe on SR 10 and approached the US 31 intersection when the vehicle went through the northbound lanes of US 31 and then into the southbound lane of US 31. The Risner’s 2001 Dodge Dakota truck was traveling southbound on US 31 when Fritz Risner observed the Tahoe’s driver fail to yield the right of way.
The Tahoe proceeded to travel west on SR 10, colliding with the driver’s side of the Risner vehicle in the southbound lanes of US 31. The Risner vehicle then rolled several times coming to rest in the median of US 31 and SR 10.
The juvenile driver was not injured.
