Leesburg Teens Injured In Elkhart County Crash
Press Release
SYRACUSE — Two teenagers from Leesburg suffered minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash at 4:21 p.m. Friday, April 24. The accident was at CR 127 and CR 56, north of the Kosciusko County Line in Elkhart County.
Nicholas Murphy, 19, Leesburg, sustained abrasions to the hand. A passenger in his vehicle, Abby Murphy, 16, Leesburg, complained of shoulder pain. The two were reportedly not transported to a hospital for treatment.
Jared Trowbridge, 18, Albion, complained of lower back pain. He was taken to Goshen Hospital.
Elkhart County Sheriff’s Deputies report Murphy was southbound on CR 127, approaching CR 56 when he failed to yield the right of way to Trowbridge’s vehicle. This caused the Trowbridge vehicle, a 2008 Dodge Ram, to collide with Murphy’s 2011 Chevrolet Impala.
Murphy was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
