MILFORD — A new branding logo for the town of Milford made its debut this week, appearing for the first time on the doors of one of the community’s utility trucks. Eventually, the new design will be placed on all of the town-owned vehicles.
According to Milford Clerk-Treasurer Tricia Gall, the town was considering options to redesign the “Welcome To Milford” signs that welcome drivers on the various entry points into town. Gall said she reached out to Mitch Hollar, with whom she was familiar from an earlier design he had worked on for the Milford Lions Club.
Hollar came up with the design using artwork that was used for Milford’s sesquicentennial in 1986 and added some wordmarks and the slogan “Nice People * Nice Town” inside a flowing blue ribbon. The design and purchase of the decals for the vehicles were approved by the Milford Town Council during its February meeting.
“We wanted the new logo to express who we are and what we stand for,” Gall noted. She added that the town is still working on the design of the new town signs but that the logo would be included if it could be worked into the final product.
Steven Marquart, the town’s utility superintendent, added that it has been more than 30 years since the town’s logo was last updated. He welcomed the change and said the new logo would be added to the town’s existing and future vehicles.
