WARSAW — A Rochester man faces charges after an alleged residential entry and domestic battery incident.
Dennis Edward Bradley, 30, 6753 Railroad St., Rochester, was charged with residential entry, a level 6 felony; domestic battery with a child under 16 present, a level 6 felony; domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor; and criminal mischief, also a class A misdemeanor.
On March 29, an Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at an undisclosed residence in Warsaw.
At the residence, the deputy spoke with the victim. She claimed the front door of her residence had been kicked in. She also said she had been involved in an altercation with Bradley, according to the affidavit of probable cause.
The victim said Bradley left the residence earlier in the day, but later returned. She said she met Bradley at the door and told him to leave. This caused Bradley to become angry. He then allegedly kicked in the door.
Once inside the residence, the victim said Bradley started a physical altercation. During the altercation, she huddled over the child in the residence in an attempt to protect the child. Bradley allegedly placed the victim in a chokehold and pinned her to the ground. The victim said she kicked Bradley’s face, ending the alternation. She said Bradley then left the residence in a vehicle. The victim had an abrasion on the inside of her left elbow.
The deputy saw a heel impression in the metal front door of the residence. A set of blinds also appeared to have fallen off of a window in the residence. The victim said the blinds fell because she beat on the window to get someone’s attention to help during the altercation with Bradley.
The deputy later spoke with Bradley. According to court paperwork, he admitted to kicking the front door. Although, he claimed that happened during a separate incident. The court paperwork stated Bradley was wearing a pair of boots that appeared similar to the impressions left on the front door.
On April 20, Bradley was booked on a warrant in the Kosciusko County Jail. His bond is set at $6,000 surety and cash.
