Syracuse Strong Continues With More Free Meals
SYRACUSE — Syracuse Strong is a fitting motto for this community as for the third time in a week, free meals will be offered to those in need. This event is due to the generosity of a local organization.
Women of Today and The Channel Marker, 5793 E. Pickwick Road, have joined together to offer free meals of fried chicken, mashed potatoes and green beans starting at 4 p.m. Friday, April 3, to families in need. The meals will be available to the first 100 people at the curb-side event.
Women of Today have a commitment to the Wawasee community to ensure the needs of the children are being met. Generous donations have allowed the group to continue to provide support. It is this support that is allowing them to help the community during this time of need.
Three families, Andrew and Linsdey Grossnickle, Dr. Alan and Peggy Grossnickle, Chris and LeAnne Francis teamed up with The Sleepy Owl Sunday, March 29, and gave out 150 meals. Real estate businesses, The RGroup, Kay Young/Todd Realty and RE/MAX Partners teamed up with Chubbies Wednesday, April 1, and distributed approximately 160 meals.
