Warsaw To Hold Kindergarten Round-Up On March 12
WARSAW — Warsaw Community Schools will host the annual kindergarten round-up event for all incoming 2020-21 kindergarten students and parents on Thursday, March 12, at all eight elementary schools.
Doors open at 5 p.m., with the informational presentation scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. and end by 6:30 p.m.
This event will provide information to parents on the upcoming registration process and give families the opportunity to meet their building’s staff, principal and teachers. Parents will not pre-register students at kindergarten round-up, so there will be no need to bring immunization or birth certificate records. Parents will receive a folder during the round-up event containing necessary documents and forms, then sign up for a kindergarten assessment appointment. A link to register for the 2020-21 school year will be sent via e-mail to the e-mail address the parent provided.
On March 12, parents will have the opportunity to tour a WCS school bus, receive information about WCS Food and Nutrition Services and meet with healthcare representatives to learn more about upcoming kindergarten physicals. As a reminder, incoming kindergarten students should be age five on or before Aug. 1, according to school board policy. Parents are asked to attend their home school for the kindergarten round-up event.
Parents of kindergarten students who are interested in the Dual Language Immersion programs at Leesburg or Eisenhower should attend kindergarten round-up at the school assigned to their address. Similarly, parents of kindergarten students who are interested in transferring to an elementary school outside of their district should attend kindergarten round-up at their current home school. Free childcare for siblings ages three to six will be available at each building.
