Warsaw Man Died While Serving Prison Sentence
NEW CASTLE — A Warsaw man died while serving a prison sentence at the New Castle Correctional Facility for sexual misconduct with a minor.
Brandon Gregory Nissley, 23, was in the New Castle Correctional Facility serving a four-year sentence for sexual misconduct with a minor, a level 4 felony. He was arrested in connection with an incident that happened around July 4, 2018.
He was an inmate of the prison since his sentencing on Feb. 21, 2019.
According to Henry County Coroner Stephen Hacker, Nissley was pronounced dead at about 1:02 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 23 in the Henry County Community Hospital. Nissley was transported to the hospital by prison personnel.
Hacker said the cause of death was not related to a serious medical condition after an autopsy conducted Sunday afternoon.
According to Hacker, there were no signs of injury on Nissley’s body.
“His cause of death is pending toxicology tests,” he said. The tests take about four to six weeks to get results, “sometimes sooner,” said Hacker.
