WARSAW 92.4, WEST NOBLE 70.725
Warsaw got its third gymnast back on the equipment Thursday night and earned a road win over the Chargers.
Erika Bugg mended from her illness earlier in the week to give Warsaw it’s third scorer. Bugg would score second on the beam at 7.2, and third on the vault, bars and floor. Teammates Sydni Purvis and Daylen Turner both scored 8.65 to lead vault, Purvis had a 7.4 to lead the way on bars, and had an 8.7 on floor, with Turner right behind at 8.65.
Purvis won the all-around at 32.225, Turner second at 30.9 and Bugg third at 29.275.
HUNTINGTON NORTH 96.65, WAWASEE 95.475
Wawasee tripped itself in its final road contest of the season, competing at the site of the regional tournament in a couple weeks.
Talia Kuhl led Wawasee with a 9.075 on floor and Aundreya Wegener posted an 8.4 on the beam to lead the category. Kuhl was second on vault at 8.625 and Wegener was second on bars at 7.35.
Huntington North used the combo of Aleah Eckert and Chloe Camomile to stay out front. Eckert won the vault at 8.7 and floor at 9.075 on floor, which tied Kuhl for honors, and was second on the beam at 8.2. Camomile posted an 8.025 on the bars to lead the meet.
Eckert had a 32.75 all-around to lead the meet to Wegener’s 32.55 and Kuhl’s 32.525.
NorthWood’s Emilee Conrad competed, scoring a 7.825 on floor and 7.5 on vault among her 27.875 all-around total.
Layla Scott had the top JV score on vault (8.2), beam (6.85) and floor (7.65) to highlight Wawasee juniors.
“This loss against Huntington North was unexpected,” stated Wawasee head coach Nika Prather. “Going in, I knew we were the better team, as far as what we had seen from them in the past. However, falls on bars, beam and floor cost us the meet.”
