Grace Duo Earn Player Of The Week Honors
WINONA LAKE – Grace College had two of its athletes honored as Players of the Week in their respective sports.
HEFFNER EARNS FIRST POW HONOR
Kaitlyn Heffner was honored on Monday for Grace’s softball team as the Crossroads League Player of the Week.
Heffner excelled in the leadoff position for the Lady Lancers during opening weekend. She batted .571 in Grace’s first two games of the season, producing 4 hits, 2 doubles and 1 run scored.
Grace is back on the road this weekend, playing in Tennessee for a four-game tournament on Friday and Saturday.
GREEN TABBED AS NCCAA ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
John Green had a memorable weekend for Grace’s track and field team. As a result, he was named the NCCAA National Track Athlete of the Week on Monday.
Green broke two school records and had two All-League honors at the 2020 Crossroads League Championships.
The sophomore won the 200-meter dash in a school-record time of 22.25 seconds, and he placed third in the 60 dash. During the 60 prelims, he broke the school record with a time of 6.95.
Grace will start national competition this week, competing in the 2020 NCCAA National Indoor Championships on Friday and Saturday at Cedarville University.
