UPDATE: Warsaw Man Taken To Hospital After Vehicle Hits Trailer, Carport
WARSAW — A Warsaw man was taken to a Fort Wayne hospital after his vehicle struck a trailer, carport and two parked vehicles at Green Acres Mobile Home Court.
At approximately 2:53 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a car hitting a trailer at 1692 E. CR 200N, Lot 181, Warsaw.
The crash involved a 2006 blue Nissan Murano, operated by Carlos J. Ramirez, 26, 1692 E. CR 200N Lot 142, Warsaw.
Ramirez was traveling east on CR 200N when, for an unknown reason, his vehicle left the roadway, driving through a yard. His vehicle then went through the second entrance to Green Acres and turned left, striking a parked, unoccupied vehicle. The vehicle is owned by Robert E. Marshall, Leesburg. Ramirez’s vehicle then continued 50 feet north and struck a carport at Lot 181, owned by Phillip D. Fretz, Warsaw. A maroon 2009 Pontiac G6, owned by Fretz, was parked and unoccupied under the carport at the time of the accident.
Ramirez’s vehicle then pushed Fretz’s vehicle and the carport beams into the residence at Lot 181. Ramirez sustained several large cuts to his head and was taken to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Damages are estimated at up to $100,000.
