Jimmie Lee Avery
Jimmie Lee “Jim” Avery, 75, Syracuse, IN passed away at 11:33 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 24, 2020, at his home. He was born on Sept. 16, 1944, in Syracuse, to Owen D. and Waneta (Amsden) Avery.
He was a lifetime area resident and attended Syracuse Public Schools. He was married on March 24, 1962, in Milford to Crystal Marie Nyce who survives. He was a self-employed carpenter & retired in 2010 from Commodore Homes in Goshen after 30+ years.
He is survived by his wife, Crystal Avery of Syracuse; three daughters:Tammy (Byron) Oswald of Syracuse, Tracy (Ron) Pollock of Syracuse, and Trisha (Chris) Guy of Warsaw; son, Jason Lee (Renee) Avery of Milford; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two sisters: Sharon (Dewayne) Lemler of Nappanee and Esther Fisher of Pierceton; two brothers Allen (Carol) Avery of Syracuse and Frederick Avery of Plymouth
He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers: Richard, Ivan, Charles, and David Avery.
Graveside services will be held at noon on Tuesday, Jan. 28, at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Milford, with Pastor Mark Kondas of the Christian Life Apostolic Church in Warsaw officiating. Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN is in charge of arrangements.
