NEW PARIS — On Jan. 20, the Indiana Department of Workforce Development received a notice that local Merchants Metals, LLC, 71347 County Road 23, New Paris, will be closing its facility. The closure is expected to be permanent.

The first separation date is expected to be March 20. Additional separation dates are planned to follow the anticipated schedule of April 30, May 1, and Aug. 14.

All 68 employees will be affected by this closure.

The New Paris location is one of the company’s four manufacturing facilities.

Merchants Metals, LLC is one of North America’s largest fencing system manufacturers and distributors, headquartered in Atlanta.
