Richard ‘Dick’ Maxfield Pence
Richard “Dick” Maxfield Pence, 77, Warsaw, passed away at 2:32 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2020, at Warsaw Meadows Care Center in Warsaw.
He was born on Aug. 3, 1942, in Wabash, to Elizabeth Mae (Baeshore) Pence and Raymond Kirk Pence. On December 18, 1966 he was married to Sandra Sue (Jordan) Pence.
Dick was a 1960 graduate of Laketon High School, and in 1961 he enlisted in the U.S. Marines and proudly served until his honorable discharge in 1965. He spent his entire working career employed at NIPSCO and at the time of his retirement in 2002 he was a supervisor. Dick was always reliable and hardworking and loved to work. For five years after his retirement he delivered RV’s across the United States and Canada. He enjoyed so many things during his life, but if you knew Dick, you knew he loved the outdoors, camping and traveling. More than anything the best thing in his lifetime he LOVED spending time with his family. He left a lasting impression to those he left behind and will be dearly missed.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years, Sandra Sue Pence, Warsaw; son: Jordan (Lisa) Pence, Warsaw; daughter: Amanda Pence, Warsaw; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and her brother: Tom (Beverly) Pence, Punta Gorda, Fla. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother.
No visitation or services are planned at this time, a private graveside service will take place at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw, Indiana. Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.
