Mock To Serve Another Term On Oakwood Cemetery Board
WARSAW — Max Mock was sworn in to serve another term on the Oakwood Cemetery Board of Regents Thursday, Jan. 2.
Warsaw Mayor Joe Thallemer administered the oath of office to Mock.
“I appreciate your willingness to serve again,” Thallemer said. “I know the pay is not great but you’ve got a good boss, a great board and you guys do great work.”
Thallemer told Mock he appreciates Mock’s willingness to give time to the community and to the city.
“It’s not easy. It’s time-consuming, but I very much appreciate your willingness to serve,” Thallemer said.
Split loads of firewood are still available at Oakwood Cemetery. Anyone interested in getting firewood from the cemetery should go to Combined Community Services at 1195 Mariners Drive, Warsaw, to obtain a voucher. The voucher is good for one split load of firewood per month while wood is available. Vouchers are distributed based on financial need.
Oakwood Sexton Hal Heagy said new garbage containers have been purchased to replace worn and damaged containers. Heagy said 81 trash cans have been taken off the frames to be cleaned, and liners are being replaced in several of the cans. Cemetery equipment is being cleaned and several projects are underway. This includes construction of a small dirt sifter.
The next regular meeting will be at 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6.
