“Winter Lighthouse” By Karla Ellis Wins Warsaw Library Photo Contest
WARSAW — The Warsaw Community Public Library announced it’s eleventh annual amateur photography contest Grand Prize Winner is Karla Ellis of Winona Lake with “Winter Lighthouse.”
Ellis’ winning photo was taken last winter at the Saint Joseph North Pier Inner Lighthouse near Silver Beach, Saint Joseph, Mich.
The grand prize and first place in the black and white category was Karla Ellis, with “Winter Lighthouse”, second place was Ansel Hygema with “A Light In The Night”, third place was Gary Mohler with “Curves”, Honorable Mentions were given to Bree Robinson with “Birthday Swim”, Craig Tidball with “Miss Ruthie”. Staff Choice was Tana Elliott with “Flowering Beauty”.
In the color category, first place was Vanessa Hollan with “Autumn Glory”, second place was Jenny L. Henning with “Egret”, and third place was Michelle Becknell with “You Are My Sunshine”, Honorable Mentions were given to Jenny L. Henning with “Enjoying Creation”, Gary Mohler with “Rockin It”, Tana Elliott with “Oh Deer!” , Emily Evans with “Treetop Breakfast” and Bev Eshleman with “November Skies”.
Grand prize was a 16-inch by 20-inch canvas package donated by Blosser’s Camera Portrait Studio. Judges were Sonya Keener from Studio 13 Photography, Rucel Martinez from Rucel Martinez Photography, Marah Grant from Marah Grant Photography and Michelle Parker from MP Photography.
The photographs will be on display at the Warsaw Community Public Library through Friday, Jan. 31, 2019.
