TIPPECANOE VALLEY GIRLS 62, WINAMAC 57
The Lady Vikings claimed their fifth straight win with a victory at Winamac Thursday night.
The Vikings started fast with a 22-11 first period and led the rest of the way.
Freshman Kaydence Mellott tied the school record with seven three-pointers and led the team in scoring with 27 points. Sidney Wagner also had a great night, ending the game with 20 points, while both Jillian Walls and Emma Craig chipped in five.
The victory moved Valley to 10-2 on the season. The Vikings will host Whitko in a Three Rivers Conference contest Saturday at 6 p.m.
Valley’s JV lost , 30-26, meanwhile. Rily Holloway led the Valley JV with six points.
WARSAW BOYS C TEAM 42, WAWASEE 23
Warsaw’s C team topped Wawasee at the Hardwood Teepee Thursday night.
The Tigers used an 18-0 second quarter to take control on the way to the win. Dmitri Chandler, Theo Katris and Drew Heckaman all scored 10 points, and Russ Winchester notched eight in a balanced scoring performance by Warsaw.
Peyton Felger scored 15 points to lead the Warriors offensively. Josiah Boyer chipped in four.
The Tigers move to 6-2. Warsaw is back in action Saturday at its home Tiger Tourney. First game is scheduled for 9 a.m. opposite Michigan City.
Wawasee dips to 4-2 and will play at East Noble Jan. 8 at 6 p.m.
TIPPECANOE VALLEY 8TH GRADE BOYS 34, TRITON 29
Valley’s eighth grade boys topped Triton on Thursday.
Wade Jones led the team with a double-double 10 points and 10 rebounds. Trent Marshall chipped in nine points, and James Gilbert added eight. The eighth grade Vikings move to 6-5 on the season.
The team will host Rochester on Jan. 14 after an extended holiday break.
TIPPECANOE VALLEY 7TH GRADE BOYS 27, TRITON 25
Valley’s seventh grade nipped Triton by two on Thursday.
Leading scorers for the Vikings were Blain Sheetz and Ian Cooksey with eight points each. Sheetz also led the team in rebounds with 10. With the win, Valley’s seventh grade moves to 8-3 on the season.
After a long holiday layover, the Vikings will return to action with a home game opposite Rochester on Jan. 14.
BOYS 7TH GRADE 44, MILFORD 36
Milford’s seventh grade boys suffered a setback Thursday night.
Brayden Miller scored 15 points to lead Milford. Bradyn Pike put up eight.
TIPPECANOE VALLEY 6TH GRADE BOYS 40, MACONAQUAH 17
The Vikings’ sixth grade ‘A’ team earned a comfortable victory over Maconaquah Thursday to move to 9-1 on the season.
Gage Overbey put up team-highs of 13 points and six rebounds for Valley, while Isaiah Ault chipped in seven points and five rebounds, Landon Patrick scored six points with four rebounds, and Nash Bouse, Cale Dewees and Wes Parker all finished with four points. William Mellott also hauled in four rebounds while chipping in two points for the Vikings.
