Valley Wins Two Against Manchester
NORTH MANCHESTER – Tippecanoe Valley picked another set of swim wins Wednesday night, taking down Three Rivers Conference neighbor Manchester.
TIPPECANOE VALLEY GIRLS 106, MANCHESTER 58
Valley won seven of the 12 events, but in most cases, had the depth against a short-handed Manchester side to make up the lopsided score.
Elaina Dishon had two wins, starting with diving unopposed at 146.55 then took the backstroke at 1:19.68. Individual wins for the Lady Vikings came from Jerzey Conley in the 200 free (2:33.98), Olivia Livengood in the butterfly (1:09.93) and Makena Smith in the breaststroke (1:21.24).
Valley also won the 400 free relay at 4:33.56.
Halle Briner won the IM (2:15.90) and 100 free (56.16) and Josie Briner took the 50 (26.23) and 500 freestyles (5:43.31) to lead the Lady Squires.
TIPPECANOE VALLEY BOYS 85, MANCHESTER 66
Tippy won all but one event against the Squires, but needed them in a relatively close meet.
Four Vikings were double winners on the night. Mitchell Smith took both distance swims, the 200 free (2:31.93) and 500 free (7:03.35), Karl Parker the IM (2:21.66) and butterfly (1:05.31), Mason Stephen the 50 (23.58) and breaststroke (1:08.01), and Brandon Hoffman the 100 free (54.82) and backstroke (1:02.51).
Logan Hummitch set a personal record with a six-dive set of 146.55. Valley also won the medley relay (1:56.41) and 400 free relay (3:55.50).
Manchester won the 200 free relay to break up the streak at 1:52.29.
Valley is off until Jan. 14 when it will host Rochester.
