World Compassion Network 5K Run/Walk March 28
WINONA LAKE – Organizers of the World Compassion Network Run/Walk for Hunger 5K are gearing up for their event on March 28.
“The 5K is WCN’s community service event that gives 100% of the net proceeds to great local churches, schools and organizations that fight hunger in our area,” said Josh Grill, missions director.
The upcoming Run for Hunger event will take place at 10 a.m. March 28 in Winona Lake. Anyone interested in sponsoring or volunteering with the 2020 event is asked to call (574)-267-5427 or visit their website.
Registration will be at the Winona Lake Senior Center and online next month.
This event has raised more than $105,000 over the past 11 years, with more than 7,000 people and businesses participating, Grill said.
The group was able to raise over $12,000 dollars this year and thankful to share all of it with the following churches, schools and organizations that helped: Mission Point Community Church, Warsaw Community Church, Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church, Beaman Home, Warsaw Community Schools-Boomerang Backpack Program, Baker Youth Club, Combined Community Services, Salvation Army, New Life Christian Church and World Outreach, Fellowship Missions, Lutheran Social Services, First Christian Church, God’s Highway to Heaven, Our Father’s House, Victory Rock, Agaitas and Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church.
