Knitting Club And More Offered At Milford Public Library
MILFORD — The Milford Public Library announced its news for the week of Dec. 16-20.
Milford Public Library Knitting Club is several years running. The club meets twice a month to work on projects and help people who are interested in learning how to knit or crochet, said a news release from Milford Public Library.
This year the club decided to work on a project they saw on the internet. They recently brought in a Christmas tree made of knitted and crocheted dishcloths and decorated with ornaments they also knitted. Six or seven of the Knitting Club members have been working on dishcloths and ornaments to make the tree for the past six months.
The base of the Christmas tree is a tomato cage. Stop by the library to see the tree on display in the adult department. Be sure to enter a drawing to win some of the dishcloths and an ornament. Winners will be drawn on Jan. 3. You can enter the drawing from Dec. 13, 2019, to Jan. 2, 2020.
This holiday season the library is offering kids a variety of crafts to make through the last couple weeks of December.
On Monday, Dec. 9, Silly Safaris entertained those in attendance by bringing a live reindeer to Milford’s Community Building. Red-nosed Ryan, the elf introduced several animals including Holly the Reindeer, Wafford the dog, a white rabbit, a brown rabbit both named Snowball, Houdini the eagle owl, Bert the Madagascar hissing cockroach, Oreo the skunk and Dean the milk snake. Red-nosed Ryan gave the audience of 50 a chance to learn about the animals and to pet Holly the reindeer. After the program was over the families got to pet and have their pictures taken with Holly, said the news release.
