Claypool Man Faces Felony Charges After Stabbing At Time Out Inn
WARSAW — A Claypool man faces felony charges stemming from an incident at the Time Out Inn in Warsaw early Sunday morning, Dec. 8.
Devin Michael Brown, 27, 510 South Graceland Ave., Claypool, was charged with unlawful possession of a handgun by a serious violent felon, a level 4 felony; and battery with a deadly weapon, a level 5 felony.
On Dec. 8, at about 2:15 a.m., Warsaw police investigated a report of a stabbing at the Time Out Inn in Warsaw. Police found a victim with a stab wound. He was taken to Lutheran Hospital, said the affidavit of probable cause.

During the investigation, police determined that Brown was the perpetrator and was detained by police after a traffic stop shortly after the incident. He told police that he threw the knife used to stab the man out of the vehicle’s window in the area of Zimmer Lane and Zimmer Road. Police found the knife in the area described by Brown, said the affidavit.
While in police custody, Brown allowed officers to search his phone. During the search, police found a photograph of Brown holding a handgun in his bedroom that was sent to an undisclosed recipient via Facebook Messenger on Dec. 7.
Police reviewed Brown’s criminal history and found he has a previous felony conviction from 2012, said the affidavit.
A no-contact order with the stabbing victim was issued against Brown in the Kosciusko County Court.
Brown was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail, Dec. 8 with an initial bond of $10,250 surety and cash. His updated bond is $25,250 surety and cash, said the affidavit.
