Valley Pulls Double Duty

AKRON – Valley earned a Three Rivers Conference double on Thursday, pulling swim wins over Wabash on both sides of the scoreboard.
TIPPECANOE VALLEY GIRLS 116, WABASH 54
Valley controlled the girls meet with the Apaches, winning 11 of 12 events. Jerzey Conley and Olivia Livengood led the way, Conley taking the 200 free (2:33.34) and 500 free (6:49.50) while Livengood the individual medley (2:32.32) and butterfly (1:09.77).
Valley also had wins from Maddie Woodward, Makena Smith, Shayleigh Honeycutt, Elaine Dishon and all three of its relays.
TIPPECANOE VALLEY BOYS 87, WABASH 84
The Vikings rallied late to clip the Apaches, using a first and third in the breaststroke and then winning the 400 relay to secure its TRC win.
Mason Stephen posted a 1:06.19 to win the breaststroke while teammate Grady McGriff grabbed third. The Viking relay then beat Wabash head’s up in the 400 finale by two seconds at 3:48.84 to secure the win.
Stephen, Karl Parker, Brandon Hoffman and Andrew Burke added solo wins and all three Viking relays were winners.
