Vikings Dominate Opener At Whitko
SOUTH WHITLEY — Tippecanoe Valley wrestling opened its season with a convincing, 64-15 road win at Three Rivers Conference foe Whitko Tuesday night.
The Vikings recorded five pinfalls, a major decision and benefitted from five forfeits on the way to the lopsided final score.
Branson McBrier stuck Cody Adkins in just 55 seconds at 138, while Jacob Eherenman needed even less time, putting Robert Weese on his back just 47 seconds into their 145-pound match. Joel Ordaz-Cisneros pinned Isaiah Kyles in the third period of their 160-pound bout, Brandon Hammer pinned Sam Lozier late in the second period of their 170-pound match, and Hagaen Slusher stuck Ethan Schuh at the 59-second stop of their heavyweight match. Drake Montelongo earned his team an 11-0 major decision over Jordan Courter at 120 pounds.
Whitko had just two wins in live matches, Nathan Miller collecting a 6-2 decision over Alex Parson at 126, and Sam Wise pinning Luke Parson at 1:07 of their 152-pound match.
Valley wrestling returns to action opposite Peru at home on Dec. 4 at 6:30 p.m.
